Craft a packing list before your next flight

Pack one bag for your trip? Can it be done? The powers that be at OneBag.com seem to think so. We don't think it's such a bad idea, either.

Who wants to pay extra to check a travel bag for your flight, especially business travelers who fly so often. Now that there's maybe two airlines that tout that your "bags fly free"--umm, remember that ALL bags used to be free to check--packing one suitcase super effectively can save you at least $30 round trip.

One of the first steps toward your one-bag goal? Create a packing list.

Tips:

• Create the list before you pack and don't amend it
• Whatever is on the list are the ONLY things that go into that bag
• The stuff you want to bring is not necessarily what you need to bring
