Apparently, it can. As more travel and hospitality destinations are using social media, they're turning to applications like Facebook and Twitter to broadcast promotions.
American Airlines, for example, offers first word of its 24 hour sales to its followers on the microblogging site Twitter. What about hotels? Yup. They're doing it too. Marriott's all over the twitter scene, interacting with guests in the process.
What's in it for the consumer? Packages, free night stays Twitter or social media -only promos and more. Are you tweeting yet?
