Great Tips! A few other important tips include:

1. Ziplock Bags for all the gooey stuff like shampoos, toothpastes, etc.
2. Bunch of clothing for any kind of weather.
3. A Bag full of bags to stash away garbage.
4. A Cooler full of drinks.
5. Air Freshener

Sometimes, a lot of people hire cars from the airport as they have to first fly before starting a road trip. At such times, it’s very important to keep the absolute basics required for the trip or else you’ll end up packing loads of things but no space to dump everything in the car!

That's true -- be prepared with layers of clothing when taking a road trip with varying elevations. It might be chilly in the mountains, but scorching in the valley.
