As frequent flyers and casual site-seers, we all need to stay up to speed with the latest TSA regulations.
To make life easier, here's the 411 on the TSA's 3-1-1 rule.
The reigning rules for TSA liquid carry-ons:
- 3 ounces or less (by volume) for liquid and gels. The small container size is for security.
- 1 quart-sized clear, plastic zip-top bag. This limits the total liquid volume each passenger can bring on to the plane.
- 1 bag per passenger should be placed in the screening bin. Isolating the liquids in one place helps with the screening process.
Keep in mind that larger amounts of liquids can be stored in checked luggage. Practicing the 3-1-1 rule for short trips helps ensure a faster, easier screening experience.
